Curriculum Development

The DREAM center is committed to supporting and developing unique curricula in the arts, in the context of a Polytechnic Institute. SUNY Poly currently offer BS degrees in Communications and Media Design, and in Interactive Media and Game Desgin, and we offer a Minor in Art and Creative Practice.

The DREAM center also assists in integrating art and design methodologies into the learning practices of a range of other courses, to offer students deeply engaged learning experiences.

Integrating art into curricula

We actively use the Gannett Gallery to showcase student work that is integrated into the curriculum of other courses. For example, we host yearly shows for ME 320 Fluid Mechanics students to exhibit their observations of fluid dynamics in everyday life, and we use the gallery to engage the campus community with insightful Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS 103 and IDS 220) projects.
